Oberstdorf is a Great Place to Relax

My husband has been so busy with work that I was afraid he would have a nervous breakdown if he didn't take some time off. So I planned a getaway to Oberstdorf (Germany) for just the two of us. I worked it out with his boss to get him the time off. When I surprised my husband with the tickets and the plan he didn't know what to say. He was even more speechless when we arrived at our hotel in Oberstdorf. The only thing that could have been more breathtaking than the hotel was the scenery that surrounded it. We had a fantastic vacation and my husband was able to completely unwind. His boss thanked me for taking him, and said that he had been recharged and full of energy at work since he returned. I was thrilled that we were able to have the time off that my husband really needed.

Our Oberstdorf Trip - Visiting the Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein Castle: a Place of Refuge for a King

The Neuschwanstein castle is set up on a high mountain in the southwestern town of Bavaria in German. It is a Romanesque palace that was built in honor of Richard Wagner. It was also made as a place of refuge for the Bavarian king who always wants to withdraw from the people but after his death, it became open to the public. It has been recorded that about 6,000 people visit the castle in a day especially during the summer time. This castle has now been considered as one of the most famous places in Germany and in Europe. The castle prides itself as the inspiration for the castle in the Walt Disney presentation of the Sleeping Beauty. It has also appeared in different movies. But because of the structure's age and the kind of weather it has been put upon, the limestone with which it has been built has to be constantly monitored and secured.
